MONDAY, March 11:

Armenia/U.K.: British Permanent Under-Secretary Simon Fraser visits Yerevan (to March 12).

Azerbaijan/Croatia: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev pays an official visit to Zagreb (to March 12).

Croatia/Slovenia: Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa and his Croatian counterpart Zoran Milanovic sign an agreement settling banking row.

EU: European Day for Victims of Terrorism.

EU: The European Union Foreign Affairs Council meeting begins in Brussels.

EU: European Parliament Plenary Session opens in Strasbourg (to March 14).

Georgia/U.S.: The Georgian-U.S. military exercises "Combat Spirit 2013" start in Georgia.

Iran/Pakistan: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad inaugurate the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline.

Russia: The trial of Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, who died in pretrial detention in 2009, begins in Moscow. (NOTE: The trial has been adjourned until March 22).

Serbia/EU: Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic visit Brussels to meet EU officials.

Ukraine/Azerbaijan: A Ukrainian delegation headed by Energy Minister Eduard Stavitsky visits Baku (to March 12).

Uzbekistan/U.S.: Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Komilov and other high-level Uzbek officials visit Washington for talks (to March 13).

World: The International Criminal Court celebrates the 10th anniversary of its inaugural session in The Hague.


TUESDAY, March 12:

Armenia/Russia: Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian visits Moscow and meets with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russia/Georgia: Aleksandr Ankvab, leader of Georgia's breakaway region of Abkhazia, visits Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Serbia: Serbia marks the 10th anniversary of the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.

U.K./Afghanistan: Chatham House in London hosts a discussion titled "Is Peaceful Political Transition in Afghanistan Possible?"

UK/Russia: Chatham House in London hosts a discussion titled "Who is Vladimir Putin?"  

World: Reporters Without Borders celebrates World Day Against Cyber-Censorship and awards the Netizen Prize, with the aim of drawing the public’s attention to the need to defend online free expression.


WEDNESDAY, March 13:

EU: The 8th annual Brussels Forum, a high-level meeting of the most influential North American and European thinkers, opens (to March 17).
