Putin In Beijing For Official Visit With Chinese Leaders


Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Beijing for an official visit with Chinese leaders that includes talks on Eurasian integration.

The Kremlin said ahead of the June 25 visit that the focus of Putin's talks would be "large-scale bilateral projects Eurasian integration, and key international issues," including the situations in Syria, Afghanistan, and the Korean Peninsula.

Putin and Chinese officials were expected to sign several dozen documents during the Russian president's stay in Beijing.

Putin was greeting by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi upon his arrival in Beijing late on June 24.

Earlier on June 24, Putin had met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, where both were attending a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Putin and Xi have had about fifteen meetings since 2013.
