U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has called on Bulgaria to break its energy dependence on Russia by diversifying its oil and gas supplies.

After talks with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov, Clinton said that the United States is a partner in advancing Bulgaria's energy security and that a number of American firms are well-positioned to help.

She said that the U.S. government will send its special envoy for Eurasian energy issues, Richard Morningstar, to Bulgaria next week to discuss those issues with Bulgarian officials.

The United States has long been a proponent of alternative gas supply routes to Europe that would bypass Russia.

Bulgaria  is almost totally dependent on Russian gas supplies.

Clinton flew to Bulgaria after attending an international security conference in Munich.

If empty,cynical,hypocritical,double-speak,in a word TURKEY talk was fuel, then hilarious hillary and most shamerican politicians would provide us with russian-free energy and we all would free, independent and shamerican as monica, pardon,as apple pie.And now the god-mother of the muslim brotherhood will have to earn her payola from the chevrons and other energy shark corporations, whose best puppet stooges are hillary type babushkas.Heaven help us all !!!

Breaking energy dependence on Russia :-))))))))). Aha, exactly now that they have decided to stop bying oil from Iran :-))))))). The easiest way to break energy dependence on Russia, Iran and just like from ebrybody else is not to turn the heating in the winter on and sit in cold appartments, and this is what is coming soon anyways - as soon as Greece; Italy and other EU member states go bankrupt and have no more money to pay for the Russian gas :-)).

Hillary is just pursuing her usual anti-Russian agenda. US government already failed with their "NAbuco" sham, what else they are looking for? Get Bulgarians freeze to death to "relieve their energy dependence on Russia" ?

How dare my Secretary of State make such a recommendation when we also rely on outside help to fuel our bottomless craving for oil and gas. When our own President rejects a call to permit a pipeline from Canada to the U.S. to relieve our dependence on overseas' sources, the Secretary ought to look inward, within her borders, before making such ridiculous comments. Politics aside ( which will never happen), if a neighbor has a commodity beneficial to our citizens, then by all means negotiate with that neighbor.

The foreign policy of a State is in particular the travel of diplomats and their statements.
People who follow politics -are commenting on actions of diplomats, including the forums of RL..
It is clear that Clinton's actions and words do not like some of comrades, especially those who are floating on the waves of Radio Liberty, on the instructions of the Party and government and the KGB-FSB.

However, I would suggest to compare the actions of the Clinton with action of Russian Foreign Minister Kalantarov (this is his real name, Lavrov is a nickname), who travel the world on the orders of Putin and offers bribes to governments of quasi-states that they recognized the thugs and racists of Abkhazia and
South Ossetia--which are occupied territories of Georgia.

Then we'll see whose actions are adequate- the Putin-Kalantarov -who send weapons to Assad that he killed people as more as possible and maintain racism and apartheid
or
Mrs. Clinton, who gives advice on how to protect themselves from cads who use energy as a method of pressure on those who they do not like.

I send "greetings" to all disgruntled comrades in the United States, that are not in the United States at all but somewhere in a village near Leningrad... where he was born " our very best"..
