Russian authorities say they have identified two suspects behind a bombing in Makhachkala, the capital of Russia's North Caucasus Republic of Daghestan.
Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said on October 31 that two Makhachkala residents -- Magomedrasul Shakhbanov, 22, and Makhmud Aliyev, 24 -- are suspected of being behind the two explosions, which occurred the previous day.
Two people were killed and 15 were injured in the attack, which apparently targeted a liquor store.
Markin said police are looking for the two suspects.
Islamic insurgents in Daghestan and other restive republics of Russia's volatile North Caucasus region frequently attack liquor stores and other public places selling alcoholic beverages, as Islam prohibits the drinking of alcohol.
