Dozens Killed In Iraq Bomb Blast

Iraqi police and hospital officials say a car bomb has exploded outside a military base north of Baghdad.

The attack on November 6 killed at least 25 people and wounded more than 50.

The blast struck around midday at the base in Taji, about 20 kilometers from the capital.

Reports say a number of soldiers are among those killed.

Violence in Iraq has sharply decreased since its peak in 2006 and 2007, but deadly attacks still occur frequently.

This latest explosion was the second bombing apparently targeting soldiers near Taji in less than 24 hours.

On November 5, police said a car bomb struck an army patrol in the Taji area, wounding eight people.
