Protesters demanding an end to military rule and Islamist supporters have clashed outside Egypt's parliament in Cairo.
The protesters were demanding that the ruling military council cede power to a civilian administration.
They were prevented from reaching the doors of parliament from supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, which holds the greatest number of seats in the assembly.
The Health Ministry said the violence left at least 43 people injured.
Tensions have been rising recently between antimilitary protesters and Islamist supporters, with the protesters accusing the Muslim Brotherhood of siding with the military and betraying the revolution which toppled former President Hosni Mubarak one year ago.
