Meet The 'Racists' Monitoring Eastern Ukraine's Unrecognized Vote

A screen grab from an infamous speech by far-right politician Ewald Stadler to the Austrian parliament in 2010.
A screen grab from an infamous speech by far-right politician Ewald Stadler to the Austrian parliament in 2010.

Western groups like the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are not recognizing the November 2 vote for leadership of the self-declared republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine, so there are no traditional monitors observing the self-styled elections.

But the Agency for Security and Cooperation in Europe (ASCE) is.

It is an organization that does not appear to actually exist. Nevertheless, the day before the Donetsk and Luhansk vote, Ewald Stadler, an Austrian politician -- who could not remember if his new group was an "agency" or an "association" -- announced that observers would be monitoring the polls under its auspices.

So who is Ewald Stadler? Perhaps there are two of him.

Here, he is as a calm representative of Europe telling anti-Kyiv freelance journalist Graham Phillips that voting is meeting international standards.

And here he is, in 2010, giving what the U.S.-based Stormfront "white power" website gleefully called the most racist speech ever delivered in a European parliament:

In 2002, the far-right former European MP refused to say whether Austria under Naziism was worse than Austria under Allied power.

Despite Moscow's persistent warnings about the rise of fascism in Ukraine, it has relied on "euroskeptic" fringe parties from both the far left and far right in Europe to support its efforts in Ukraine.

And as outlined in detail by "The Interpreter" online journal, at least 17 representatives from far-right parties have come to Ukraine -- apparently through Russia -- to observe the unrecognized November 2 vote.

While Stadler appears to be keeping his more controversial opinions on race and religion to himself while in Ukraine, other observers are apparently rejecting such caution.

It must embarrassing to be the only government that recognizes South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Transnistria, Nagorno-Karabakh, the election results in Donetsk and Luhansk, or the Russians just don't care what everyone else thinks. Their opinion is the only one that matters to them. Even if we've got it on satellite video, they deny invading eastern Ukraine again.

That's right Bill, the Russians just don't care what people think just like when Bush Jr. told the world at the UN that, "You are either with us or against us", (sounds like a threat to me) when he knew our invasion of Iraq was based on one, then other, then other big lie.

Or our attempted bombing of Assad in Syria based on a big lie that Assad used chemical weapons against the rebels. You may want to read Sy Hersh's book based on this deceit that was ignored by all of the major media in the USA but covered by the international press.

The US and Russia are no better or worse than each other. Both want what is in their strategic interest so spare us the aattempt at a false moral high ground

Regardless of whether the US deserves the same sort of treatment Russia is getting from the world community, Russia still deserves that treatment. Don't try to confuse the issue by saying America is bad too! They may be, but that is not the issue at hand, so stop confusing it

So why the quote marks, as in "fascists" and "racists"? Is the implication that their views are somehow not really racist?

Joining the EU means that Ukraine may be seeing Turks before France sees Ukrainians. Then they'll howl. if they don't like 'russians' they're really not going to like most Europeans.

what a "racist" rant to suggest Austria shouldn't be overran by Turks who have no respect for the Austrian nation. What a fascist statement to accept some basic religious rights in Turkey be observed just as Turkey expects them to be observed in Austria. This is why western civilization is collapsing. Because any sense of having self respect for yourself, your nation, your history, or your religion is considered racist. Good luck becoming an Arab and Turkish colony Europe. I'm glad my Armenia chose the EEU. At least we won't have to deal with this nonsense.

I agree, i listened to the argument this "racist extremist" made and agree with much of what he said. I also feel that these extremely conservative groups cropping up all over Europe are a response to a perceived threat from a culture who's moved into their continent without integrating into it. While his rhetoric was borderline racist, his meaning was not. The conservatives want integration into their culture, or at least, integration into their laws. How is this racist?

So he's a racist for not wanting his country to be full of people who's social viewpoints are still stuck in the 7th Century? Hmmm....I didn't know it was racist to not want Female genital Mutilation, honor killings and general violent behavior to be widespread. Too bad people aren't buying that "racist" argument anymore huh? I wonder what card the Gray men and women of Brussels will pluck out of the deck? Now that a growing number of people are starting to see the destruction that has been levied upon their own individual and unique cultures by the self-loathing Internationalists/Multi-Culturalists in Brussels.

Here's a tip: Mutli-Culturalism only works if the various cultures that are mixed in together are actually on the same page of history! If two or more cultures are living in 2014, then you might just get peace and harmony. But if one culture is living in 2014 and another is living in 614, well I'm going to venture a guess and say you're headed for major social disaster.

But hey, why would the know it all bureaucrats in Brussels listen to little old me? Right? I mean after all Brussels is only 25% Muslim. That can't be too bad now can it?

Not for "Urartu", grabbing with genocide Ararat planes,
Not for their descent, "Bagramyan's" battalion in Abkhazia,
Grabbing Georgian land and property with genocide ugliness,
Not for Kastel, as comprise from his lie, masked pseudo-logics.

Arseniy Yatcenuk, is right about "Second Abkhazia",
I might add:
___________________________________________
As Abkhazia, as South-East Ukraine were populated by genuine majority of Georgians and Ukrainians, respectfully.
In both cases Russia by few stages of influx and cleansing created few % of spies-loyalist, specially during Lenin's Red Terror and invading neighbor countries, in 1930th, after WW2 and since 1956.
Finally they invaded with virtual genocides and squeezing of local majority to annex it for Russia.

THERE NEVER WAS THREAT TO RUSSIAN SECURITY - PUTIN'S LIES.
SIMPLY RUSSIAN TYRANNY OF VARAG-PRUSSAK HATE ALL PEOPLE, INCLUDING NORMAL RUSSIANS.
THUS INSTEAD OF WORKING WITH PEOPLE THAT CREATED AND BUILT RUSSIA AS EQUAL, THEY PERIODICLY PURGED THEM, GRABBED THEIR EARNED PLACE AND BELONGINGS AND INVADED THEIR OLD COUNTRIES -
BREED IN THEIR LAND AND DEVOUR -
AS RUSSIAN "STERVYATNIKS".

Wake up Russians!

COIMPROMISE ABOUT WHAT?
DIVIDE THE WORLD AMONG COLONIAL EMPIRES OF RUSSIAN TYPE - USE TOTAL CLEANSING AND GENOCIDE IN EURO-ASIA TO REPOPULATE IT BY RUSSIAN VARANGA-PRUSSIANS AND RESTORE SERFDOM?
AS RUSSIANS TRIED LURE INTO IT IN 1954-56 BRITISH, BECHTEL, GERMANS-AUSTRIANS?
WORLD IS AGAINST ANY EMPIRE, THAT INCLUDES USA - THE LARGEST AMONG LAST OF DEFENDERS FROM DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD BY RUSSIA.
IF IT TO HAPPEN - EVEN 1954-56 CONSPIRATORS WILL VANISH!
LIKE USA-RUSSIA HOKEY GAME - RUSSIANS FORGED MAY-HAM TWO TIMES, BEING THE BEST IN THE WORLD GENETIC AND SECRETLY TRAINED FOR IT HULLIGANS, AND WON - DRIVING TWICE WITH THEIR BEHINDS WASHER TO USA GATE!

RFE/RL has a way of uncritically promoting hack journos like K Jovananovski.

BTW, it can be considered "racist" when RFE/RL goes along with the hypocritical double standards against Russians and Serbs.

Meet the Racists (and fascists) *Monitoring* [sic] Eastern Ukraine’s Unrecognized Vote (…and the “ASCE” doesn’t appear to actually exist …)

A thematically powerful piece.

Thx
