The leader of Russia's Ingushetia region in the North Caucasus today sacked the local government for the second time in three years.

Yunus-Bek Yevkurov's decision follows the resignation of Ingush Prime Minister Alexei Vorobyov, who is reportedly leaving his post to take up a job in the Moscow government.

Yevkurov had repeatedly said that radical Islam fuels the violence in the North Caucasus as much as rampant corruption does.

After being installed by the Kremlin three years ago, Yevkurov immediately sacked his entire cabinet, pledging to reduce lawlessness.
