Iran Marks Anniversary Of Islamic Revolution

Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has said that Tehran will inaugurate "important nuclear projects" within days.

Speaking at a rally to mark the 33rd anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution on February 11, Ahmadinejad said that "within the coming days we will witness [the] opening and operation of new nuclear projects in Iran."

Ahmadinejad gave no details about what projects would be made public. But any announcement is sure to raise tensions between Iran and countries which accuse it of seeking to develop nuclear weapons technology.

The UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported in November that Iran is enriching uranium to 20 percent at a mountain bunker near Qoms. That level is higher than necessary for civilian nuclear fuel but still well below the 90 percent enrichment needed for making an atomic bomb.

Iranian officials have said in recent months that that they plan insert their first domestically made 20-percent enriched fuel plate into a Tehran research reactor by March.

Western countries fear the research reactor could also be used to eventually create bomb-grade materials.

As Ahmadinejad spoke on February 11, he sharply criticized both the United States and Israel.

A life-sized model of a U.S. drone, captured by Iran in December near the border with Afghanistan, was among the centerpieces of the rally in Tehran's Azadi Square.

Ahmadinejad claimed the United States and the West had created "a story called the Holocaust" to create the Israeli state as part of a plan "to dominate the world."

Hamas Prime Minister of Gaza Ismail Haniyeh told the crowd just before Ahmadinejad spoke that Hamas "will never recognize Israel."

A crowd of an estimated 30,000 people cheered the speakers. Many held aloft placards declaring "Death to America" and "Death to Israel".

On February 11, Iran's state TV also showed tens of thousands of pro-government demonstrators rallying across the country to mark the 1979 events, which toppled Iran's pro-west monarchy and brought Islamic clerics to power.

So Chechen (if you indeed are from where ur name suggests), you seem to think that some how you and your Arab buddies are the real Muslims do you? Tell me what part of your Sheikhs/Princes running around buying 16 Ferraris or buying Buggatti Veryons in excess of 1million Euros each while millions of Palestinians are rotting in refugee camps is Islamic?! Everyday your Saudi Royalty to continue to live a life of opulence and excess beyond anything you or I could ever dream of while other muslims live with no roof over their heads, no health, no education and have to suffer under apartheid regime. Palestinian Sons and Daughters die in the streets while the Saudi royals offspring drive up and down Harrods in London pissing money away in their gold embroiled million dollar cars. They are puppets and nothing but a vassal estate. Much rather be shia and embrace peace/poetry/Sufism/mysticism and plurality than accept Wahabism/Salafism that enslaves people, especially woman, and is fit only for 1700 years ago in deserts of Arabia where you were burying your girl infants and had to be taught not to eat with the same hand as you wipe ur ass.

Israel, not United States, is Iran's enemy. An Iran with nuclear weapons will disrupt Israel's cruel and outrageously exercised Mideast hegemony. All our Mideast wars have been against our interests, yet successfully advocated by the Jewish state. Again against our interests, Israel has involved us in increasingly overt operations against Iran. Spies and American military drones in Iranian airspace are the most recent revelations. Since before 9/11, American soldiers have been dying for the Jewish state. We are at war. Who did this to us? Israel, AIPAC, the One Percent and traitorous monied Israel Firsters have corrupted our politicians and entire electoral system. Justice and the future of America demand that they be prosecuted and jailed.

True. It's sad how this article, like a cheap campaign speech, is filled with vague one-liners painting an equally vague picture of Iran. Vague, but painted as an enemy. Implying that he thinks the Holocaust is made up. Complete BS. He's made his stance perfectly clear that his only concern is that Jews have abused their persecution for immoral influence.

The article consistently fails to mention that virtually every action Iran has taken regarding its Nuclear program has been 100% in line with IAEA regulations. A nasty little detail.

Saudi Arabia and Muslims is Iran's enemy. The midget submarines, Chinook choppers, F-14's and the rest of the junk cannot rich Israel but it sure can create hegemony in Syria, Iraq, Arabia, and other minor countries.

If Ahmadinejad still doubts the holocaust took place he should ask the Russians.

Ahmadinejad is a liar, to his own people and the world. I've been to the death camps and have seen the ovens where the millions of Jews bodies were burned. Any idiot can go online and see the historic truth. If the Jews had not congregated on that piece of desert, it would still be a piece of desert. Instead they have transformed it into a paradise of a homeland for all the Jewish people of the world to migrate. The only people that will be "wiped from the face of the earth" is anyone that tries to wipe Israel from the face of the earth.

Ahmadinejad looks like incarnation of truthfullness comparing to lies and disinformation spread by US state-controlled media. Finally I heard Al Qaeda announced it is on the same side as US government in their terrorist campaign against Christians and Shia muslims in Syria. Now it is official: US government=Al Qaeda

I remember that when the U.S. carried out the operation to liberate Kuwait, Saddam was warned, that if he used chemical weapons,he will be destroyed by nuclear one..
It is clear that the Iranian fanatics are working from morning till evening on the creation of nuclear weapons.

Obama "pulls the rubber", since Putin has tied his hands when ordered to organize to award Obamа ( who does not think in diplomacy) the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama and the allies should simply state that In case of appearance nuclear weapons in the hands of Iranian fanatics, the U.S. and allies begin bombing fanatics with nuclear bombs the next day...
And let them say what they want.....

33 years ago Muslims restored their public identity which the neo-colonialists are aiming to eliminate. Iran is the only country that stands firm and has a consistent Islamic agenda. Without Iran, Serbs would take Sarajevo after a year of the genocidal seige backed by all Western powers, Bosniak Muslims own their survival to Iranian aid.
