Mohammad Hossein Karrubi, the son of opposition leader Mehdi Karrubi, has posted on his Facebook pages pictures of his father after he was beaten up by security forces during last year's state-sponsored demonstration marking the anniversary of the 1979 Revolution.

The "Bamdadkhabar" website has published the pictures, which show bruises on the bodies of Karrubi and his son, who was arrested by pro-government forces and threatened with rape.

Karrubi, one of the pillars of the Islamic republic, has come under great pressure over his criticism of the postelection crackdown, including allegations of the rape of political prisoners in prison.
