Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi starts a three-day official visit to Tajikistan on March 7 with a focus on possible investment in that Central Asian country.
A spokesman for Tajikistan's Foreign Ministry, Davlat Nazriev, said Iranian involvement in "large-scale projects" such as the Sangtuda-2 hydropower plant would be discussed in Salehi's meetings with his Tajik counterpart, Hamrokhon Zarifi, and with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
Nazriev said there could be talks on Iran's disputed nuclear program but noted Tajikistan's position that countries have a right to develop nuclear power for peaceful purposes.
