Who Assassinated Iran's Nuclear Scientist?

When motorcycle bombers assassinated an Iranian nuclear scientist on January 11, they left behind no clues of who they were. But does the type of operation itself give any hints? RFE/RL correspondent Charles Recknagel spoke with Shahshank Joshi, an analyst with the Royal United Services Institute in London.

Iran’s state television has reported that Tehran has evidence that the United States was behind the latest assassination of one of its nuclear scientists.

Earlier this week, an Iranian nuclear scientist was killed in a bomb blast in Tehran.

It was the fifth attack of its kind in two years.

Iranian state-run television reported that the Iranian Foreign Ministry gave a letter to the Swiss ambassador in Tehran which says: "We have reliable documents and evidence that this terrorist act was planned, guided, and supported by the CIA.”

The Swiss Embassy represents U.S. interests in Iran.

Tehran and Washington have no diplomatic ties.

The United States has denied involvement in the killing and condemned it.

Israeli President Shimon Peres has said Israel had no role in the attack, to the best of his knowledge.

Love the headline... a bit of an exaggeration though. CIA was only blamed for disclosing information to the group that carried out the assassination.

You're right. The headline has been changed to more accurately reflect the content of the article.

Israel, the US, who knows which one really did the deed.
Neither will admit to it (it is an act of international state sponsored terrorism you know) so there will be no confessions.

But being as these two nations regularly commit war crimes, acts of terrorism and crimes against humanity can we really afford to continue to call them friends and allies?
I ask because down at the level of my personal world people who committed crimes of this magnitude would be turned over to the Gendarmes with as much speed as I could muster.
And they would be shunned by my community and charged with their crimes. It is a shame this is not the case at the international level.
Why should it be different at the international level.

Israel, not United States, is Iran's enemy. An Iran with nuclear weapons will disrupt Israel's cruel and outrageously exercised Mideast hegemony. All our Mideast wars have been against our interests, yet successfully advocated by the Jewish state. Again against our interests, Israel has involved us in increasingly overt operations against Iran. Spies and American military drones in Iranian airspace are the most recent revelations. Since before 9/11, American soldiers have been dying for the Jewish state. We are at war. Who did this to us? Israel, AIPAC, the One Percent and other organized and monied Israel Firsters have corrupted our politicians and entire electoral system. Justice and the future of America demand that they be prosecuted and jailed.

So that whole "occupy the embassey in Tehran" thingy was just a funny prank because we allowed Reza Pahlavi in? The bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut was a love tap intended for Israel? Kidnapping Americans for fun in Lebanon? Many of these carried out by Iranian-trained terrorist Imad Mughniyeh.
JohnWV, if they attack us because we support Israel, does this mean we allow other states to decide our foreign policy for us?
Also check into this case: Havlish, et al. v. bin Laden, et al for some details and page 240 of the 9-11 report as to why we are an enemy to Iran today.

Two more questions: Do you believe in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and how is Ron Paul today?
