Kazakhstan Publishes Map Of Homes Of Convicted Pedophiles

The Prosecutor-General's Office in Kazakhstan has published an interactive map of convicted pedophiles online.

The website of the office's Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Registration says the aim of the map is to "prevent new crimes" from being committed by convicted pedophiles.

The map allows users to zoom in on cities, towns, or villages to find convicted pedophiles.

The data includes photos, age, conviction details, and the current addresses of registered pedophiles who have been convicted since 1991.

On April 21, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev signed a bill allowing the use of chemical castration to punish convicted pedophiles.

Based on reporting by zakon.kz and today.kz

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
