Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security says it has detained a terrorist suspect wanted in neighboring Uzbekistan.
The committee identified the suspect as Habibullo Suleymenov, born in 1957 and a resident of Uzbekistan's eastern city of Ferghana.
It said Suleymenov is suspected of being a member of the Islamic Movement of Turkestan -- a pan-regional Islamic militant group.
The Kyrgyz authorities said Suleymenov was detained this month during a security operation.
The announcement comes after the security committee said on October 17 that it had detained five suspected terrorists in a security operation and seized a large amount of weapons.
The State Committee for National Security said all five of those suspects were Kyrgyz citizens.
