Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry's Website Hacked

BISHKEK -- The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry's website has been hacked by an unknown group, apparently from Turkey.

A group, identifying itself as "B3YAZ," placed a statement in Turkish on the ministry’s website early on August 9 saying that the site's system "has not been damaged yet."

The message also says the group launched the attack because the ministry ignored previous warnings, but is not clear what warnings the group is referring to.

The message also listed several Internet addresses, one of which was Anti-Armenia.org.

Foreign Ministry officials were not immediately available for comment.

August 9 is a day off in Kyrgyzstan, which is celebrating the second day of the Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr.
