WATCH: Moldovan Capital Sees More Mass Protests

Reports say at least 15,000 people are protesting against Moldova's government in the capital, Chisinau.

The Socialist Party and Our Party organized the September 27 rally, in which participants called for early parliamentary elections.

Mass rallies got under way on September 6, when tens of thousands of people took to streets in Chisinau to protest the pro-Western governing coalition's failure to come to grips with corruption and implement genuine reforms.

The country’s central bank governor, Dorin Dragutanu, resigned on September 21 after being criticized for failing to prevent the massive siphoning of money from local banks last year.

The latest protest comes days after the International Monetary Fund said it would not negotiate a new loan agreement with the pro-European leadership.

Based on reporting by AP, TASS, and Interfax

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
