Weapons Factory Explodes In Montenegro, Killing One

One person was killed and several others injured in an explosion at a weapons factory in Montenegro.

In a statement, police said the incident occurred on July 5 at a Tara Aerospace and Defense Products factory in the northern town of Mojkovac.

They gave no other details, but said they have opened a probe into the explosion.

It is the third such blast at the Tara factory since early 2014.

In the two previous blasts at the factory, seven people were severely injured, and investigators found that work safety rules were not adhered to.

The factory produces guns and rifles as well as weaponry for the police.

It also sells military equipment to clients in the European Union, the United States, Canada, and the Balkans region.
