A new U.S. poll finds that a majority of Muslims in five countries surveyed – including Pakistan -- have a negative view of Al-Qaeda.
The poll by the Pew Research Center's Global Attitudes Project coincides with the one-year anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death.
It found that an unfavorable attitude toward Al-Qaeda is held by 71 percent of Egyptians, 77 percent of Jordanians, 73 percent of Turks, and 98 percent of Lebanese.
The highest favorability rating was in Egypt, with 21 percent.
In Pakistan, where U.S. Special Forces killed bin Laden last year, 55 percent of people feel negatively toward the militant group, 13 percent feel favorably, and 30 percent have no opinion.
Researchers said some areas of Pakistan were too dangerous to poll in.
