Over 200 Nominated For 2012 Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Institute says 231 people have been nominated for this year's Peace Prize.

The Norway-based institute said they included former U.S. President Bill Clinton, former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier who is now facing a U.S. military trial over allegations he leaked tens of thousands of sensitive U.S. military and diplomatic messages to the WikiLeaks website.

The deadline for submitting nominations for this year's prize was February 1.

Last year, the Peace Prize was awarded to Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Liberian activist Leymah Gbowee, and Yemeni "Arab Spring" activist Tawakkol Karman.
