A Pakistani prisoner in India who was in a coma after being beaten by another inmate last week has died.
Sanaullah Ranjay died in a hospital in northern India on May 9.
Pakistan's government has asked India to allow Ranja's body to be airlifted to Pakistan.
Ranjay was imprisoned in 1999 and sentenced to life in prison in 2009 for militant activities in Indian Kashmir.
He was beaten up in the prison in Jammu, the winter capital of Indian Kashmir, on May 3.
He was attacked a day after a convicted Indian spy died after being badly beaten with a brick by fellow inmates at a prison in Lahore.
