Police and hospital officials say an ethnic Serb injured by gunfire during a clash between ethnic Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo's north has died.

Two other injury victims, including a policeman, are still being treated.

Police spokesman Besim Hoti said Savo Mojsic died in a hospital in the Serb-run part of the ethnically divided town of Mitrovica on November 10 after a three-hour surgery.

Mojsic was wounded in an eruption of gunfire preceded by a fight between ethnic Albanians and Serbs. Police are looking into details of what sparked the clash and who fired.

Kosovo's north has been tense since this summer, when Serb protesters put up roadblocks to hamper Kosovo authorities' efforts to deploy customs officials to  disputed border crossings with  Serbia.

Serbia and many of Kosovo's ethnic Serb population have refused to recognize independence declared by the UN-administered province in 2008. Russia also rejects Kosovar sovereignty.

When you play with water, you get wet,
When you play with fire, you get burn
When you play with guns, you get killed,
When you stay cool, you are cool - just like in Gracanica

So that's the reason why so many of you died in the conflict, because you didn't want to stay cool. I thought it's because of the Nazi-Serbs.

Never heard a more stupid comment in my life. Mr. President tear that albanian extremists down, and let the people live free and in peace

i wonder what will IC or Eulex do about this. Such events are supposed to be handled with care, to avoid misleading or confusion. Ban Ki-Moon stated few days ago that "Intervention of Kosovo police on North initiated new wave of violence in Kosovo against Serbian population, thus significantly increasing the number of ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs" ... is this just one of them?

They will do nothing, Serbs are allowed to be killed in their own houses, in their own country. It's called freedom, democracy and humanitarian action to ensure stabilisation of the region. To be honest I as all am very biased upon the Serbs, and all the war-crimes your paramilitary was accused of doing, but when I see with which kind of people you have to live down there, muslim extremist, albanian criminal tribesmen, and that you have absolute no support from the international community in dealing with those threats, no wonder it came to extremists actions, and even attrocities. Every guy here in London would go mad over less.
