August 25 -- "Recent remarks by Iran's Supreme Leader are a sign of his unconditional support for Ahmadinejad's government," says Toronto-based journalist Shahram Rafizadeh in an interview with Radio Farda. She says Khamenei told Ahmadinejad to work in his last year as if it were his first. Rafizadeh says these comments violate the Iranian Constitution [Audio in Persian / Article in English].
August 25 -- A student activist at the Tarbiat Moalem Teacher Training University in the city of Karaj says about 35 students who participated in a sit-in last June were recently summoned to the university's disciplinary committee, as well as the Revolutionary Court. August 26 -- One week after the execution of Reza Hejazi, another child offender, Behnam Zare, was hanged. Zare's lawyer -- who represents 25 other minors -- says his client's execution was unexpected.
