Russian investigators say the message "Free! Pussy Riot" was scrawled above the bodies of two women who were found slain in the city of Kazan.

The Investigative Committee says that the women -- a mother, 76, and her daughter, 38 -- were apparently killed late last week.

The message appeared in the kitchen near where the mother's and daughter's bodies were found. The message appeared in the kitchen near where the mother's and daughter's bodies were found.

The message, the investigators said, was "presumably" written in blood on the wall of their apartment.

Lawyers for the Russian feminist punk band Pussy Riot have denounced the case as an "abominable provocation."

Three members of Pussy Riot were convicted and sentenced to two years in jail earlier this month for "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred" over a February protest against President Vladimir Putin that they carried out in Russia's main Orthodox cathedral in Moscow.

Their sentencing has drawn international condemnation.

A tragic crime but no connexion to Pussy Riot except in warped minds of the murderers.

However, analysed as a conspiracy theory, could be FSB false flag "wet work" meant to further inflame popular hatred against the innocent Pussy Riot women and against all anti-Putin protesters.

Rather like the bombings by FSB in Buynaksk, Moscow, and Volgodonsk in September 1999, killing 293 people and injuring 651. Worked well to give Putin an additional motive (besides Islamist invasion of Dagestan) for second Chechen War.

"innocent"? if this women will be of Islam religion protesting in cathedral against abortion, will you still call them innocent, or suddenly it's a hooliganism motivated by religious hatred?
There are many ways to express protest against government, they definitely chose not right one, by offending other people. One of them already has history of hooliganism, which was not related to politics at all, can be assumed she just enjoying public shocking. Maybe after carried punishment she'll consider to transform her "talants" into smth like Lady Gaga project...

Perhaps all parties to this dispute should try to engage in moderation and restraint.
