Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised to release $800 million in loans to Belgrade as he received Serbia's president-elect Tomislav Nikolic in Moscow.

The money is the second tranche of a previously agreed $1 billion loan for Serbia, of which only $200 million has been disbursed so far.

Putin told Nikolic that "we see Serbia not only as our traditional and very important partner in the Balkans" but "Serbs as our spiritual brothers."

Nikolic -- who is due to be inaugurated by June 1 -- made Moscow his first foreign destination following his election win against Boris Tadic earlier this month.

A former Serbian ultranationalist, Nikolic has vowed to keep Serbia on its path toward EU membership while at the same time maintaining Belgrade's traditionally strong ties with Russia.

He also said that Serbia will not give up its claim to Kosovo for the sake of EU membership.

This year has produced so many pleasant surprises for the nation of Beavus, Butthead and George W. Obama:
(a) Putin returned to the Russian presidency;
(b) Nikolic finally became the president of Serbia;
(c) the two traditional pro-NATO/EU/US political parties in Greece lost their majority (for the first time in the last 30 years);
(d) the newly elected French president is taking the French troops out of Afghanistan;
(e) Assad resisted the terrorist attack by the US/Saudi stooges;
(f) Ahmadinejad is continuing to develop the Iranian nuclear program;
(g) Kim Jong Un has successfully managed the power transition in the DPRK;
(h) the Nabucco pipeline (that has been promoted by the US for a decade) has quitely died.
It's been a good year so far :-). Congratulations, Beavuses, Buttheads and Georges W. :-).

Well well well we have the good old Red Muslim Brothers-EuGenio and Jackie-and now we have also the good old Soviet Spiritual Sisters-much better than the babushkas,who nearly drove Onegin to suicide failing to win in Baku.The spiritual bond in this clinical case is between the moonshine vodka and home made prepechenitsa-plum brandy,which is causing the genial posts of RFE/RL`s Eastern 1000year Reich genius and now that the millions from Russland are coming we all think some kopeykas must go towards похмелин tablets /hangover cure/for our Austrian Onegin,if the money is not in the form of fake roubles.Ну,Еуженио, погоди!!!

To CAMEL: You are saying: "the babushkas,who nearly drove Onegin to suicide failing to win in Baku" :-))))))))))). Aha, Camel, you are absolutely right - I could not sleep the night the terrible news of the babushkas' humiliating defeat was announced :-))). I guess after the RFE/RL has been promoting the theme of an "imminent defeat" of such personalities as Putin, Assad, Ahmadinejad or Nikolic - which they did not get - the sorry demise of the babushkas will provide one more argument to those "journalists" who ceaselessly write "articles" on how everything is "rotten in the Kingdom of Russia" :-))).
