Deadly Helicopter Crash In Russia's Far East Investigated


Russia's Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into a May 3 helicopter crash on Russia's Far East peninsula of Kamchatka that killed three people.

Russia's Ministry for Emergency Situations says the privately owned, four-seat Robinson-44 helicopter crashed on land near Kamchatka's Russkaya Bay about 80 kilometers from the Kamchatka Krai region's capital, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

According to the ministry, search teams have found the bodies of three people killed in the crash and search operations have concluded.

Authorities say the helicopter was flying in clear weather when it crashed.
