Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to take questions from ordinary Russians in his highly choreographed annual call-in show.

The Kremlin says it has received more than 1 million questions from across the country ahead of the television marathon on April 14, which often runs four hours or more and is now in its 14th year.

With Russia's economy under stress from low global oil prices and Western sanctions, analysts say the Kremlin is particularly attuned to any rumblings of discontent.
