Jailed Russian opposition activist Leonid Razvozzhayev has been placed in solitary confinement.

The Federal Service of Correctional Institutions (GUFSIN) in Irkutsk Oblast said Razvozzhayev received five days of solitary confinement on February 19 as punishment for breaking detention-center regulations.

No more details were given.

Razvozzhayev's lawyers say they will file an official complaint against the detention center's administration.

Razvozzhayev was arrested in October 2012 for his alleged role in organizing unsanctioned, violent protests in Moscow in May last year.

He is also charged with armed robbery in connection with a 15-year-old incident in Siberia, illegal border-crossing, and making a false crime report.

Razvozzhayev has insisted the authorities kidnapped him in Ukraine, brought him back to Russia, and used torture to force him to confess.
