A new center dedicated to the Russian Federation's first president, Boris Yeltsin, has been unveiled.

The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center was opened in the city of Yekaterinburg in Russia's Urals region on November 25.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev attended a ceremony to mark the opening of the center.

Former and current world leaders were invited to the ceremony, but it was unclear how many attended.

More than 30,000 exhibits and 13,000 photos were on display at the center.

Around 50 politicians, private and state companies, and businessmen funded the construction of the building.

Yeltsin, who was Russia's first president from 1991 to 1999, died on April 23, 2007 at the age of 76.
