A federal judge in New York has upheld the conviction of Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.

Bout was seeking to have his November 2, 2011, conviction dismissed but Judge Shira Scheindlin rejected the motion and set March 12 as the date for sentencing.

Bout was found guilty on four counts of conspiring to sell missiles to terrorists and conspiring to kill U.S. service personnel.

Bout faces a minimum of 25 years in jail and could be sentenced to life in prison.
