Taliban has always been armed mostly with Russian weapons, during 1980-ies, as well as know. Check the chronicles and pictures from 1980-ies. US government supplied Taliban with M16 rifles and booby-trapped bombs disguised as kids toys, however Taliban only chosed the latter and discarded unreliable M16 in favor of AK-47, and famous Russian bazookas. Everyone who fought a war knows Russian weapons are vastly superior and more advanced than hugely expensive and unreliable US-made crap.

what matters is not how the war started, what matters is how the war ended. US lost the war in Iraq big time, with close to 5,000 servicemen dead, tens of thousands mutilated, paralized for life, with 1.5 trillion dollars wasted, and with Iraq firmly out of US control. All due to Russian weapons which inflicted such a disaster on US Army. Now the same is happening in Afganistan. US government is begging Taliban for peace. Check any picture, Taliban sports Russian weapons? It proves over and over again, Russian weapons ALWAYS win the war.

do not overstress your brain "Ilya". A 500-million NATO allied with 2 billion Muslims against 10-million Iraq.. or 10-million of Serbia.. I guess NATO would have won even if it was fighting with slingshots... But as soon as there is a real war, glorious US Army has always been defeated by Russian weapons.

The US wiped the floor with Saddam twice without breaking a sweat - and with very little help from the rest of the world. Their casualties were remarkably tiny as well. Basically, you have no examples of 'real' wars to back up your argument. Counter-insurgencies obviously don't count - any competent insurgent would tell you that he relies on his tactics to compensate for his lousy weapons.
