Two leading Russian opposition parties have held a joint congress and agreed to join forces to force new legislative and presidential elections.

The People's Freedom Party -- headed by former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and former Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov -- merged with the Republican Party, headed by former Duma Deputy Vladimir Ryzhkov, to create the new party, called RPR-PARNAS.

Because the new party is the successor party of the People's Freedom Party, which was legally registered by the Justice Ministry, it should be allowed to participate in future elections.

Representatives of the liberal Yabloko party attended the congress as observers and pledged to work with the new formation to push for new elections as soon as possible.

The new party declared the 2011 and 2012 elections invalid and the current legislature and president illegitimate.

There was interesting comment in recetn "Power Vertical" podcast where one of the hosts said he knew many people who were Russian businessmen who did not want to vote for Putin, so they voted for KPRF and Zyuganov. When asked why they didn't vote for Yabloko, the host explained these people did not like Putin but they were not "liberals." It seems like this is the big obstacle for Russian opposition to overcome, the reluctance to support "liberal" and "opposition" parties.

Usually if for some period of time no comments or responses
and I put my comment with something new, or something to make a point about - always somebody immediately jumps before me
with some pre-punch reply - stealing and compitinng as an
usurp-"geshefting"?
Usually it looks like Russian imperial "oboroten's"...

Anonymous is anonymous about - in whose eyes puppets are they?

If opposition is a puppet of expandig race of Russian bandits,
in eyes of betrayed nations -they are puppet, endeed.
Are they?

If opposition is puppet of some national security issues with some benevolant modernization issues - they are not necessary puppet, even in eyes of their betrayed neighbors, but only in the
eyes of Russian nazi propaganda that forge Russia-USA falce
impression of competition for sphers of colonization.
Are they?

Are you provoking it too, Anonymous?
Many fall for it.
Hillary and some others in USA already behave as they do fall for it, like in Syria and even in Georgia, forgetting about main reason for American Revolution and main law of USA constitution!
Are they ethnic Russians too?

Let see where the opposition would go with it...

if these US-financed "oppositionists" formed Republican party, they should also form Democratic party, to completely emulate US sham "multi-party" system.

Wow, the three guys above look pretty dangerous - no doubt they will manage to overthrow the bloody dictatorship of Putin in no time!
But in the meantime Putin himself seems to look for friends who will have him counter the attack staged by Kasyanov and Co. - here is the picture of Vladimir and his friends: http://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/soziales/china-indien-und-russland-sagen-hilfen-fuer-krisenfonds-des-iwf-zu-a-839624.html

Eugenio, the opposition is stronger than you think.
Besides, what kind of name is Eugenio? What does this mean? European genius? Whatever. Sounds like a girly name .Get a real man's name like Johannes, Lance, Borislav or Fragge, anything but Eugenio.
