Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah has announced that women will be free to vote and run for elections for the first time in the conservative Gulf nation's history.

Speaking before the country's consultative Shura Council on September 25, Abdullah said women will be appointed to the 150-member council when the next round begins in 2013.

They will also be allowed to vote and run in municipal elections, the country's only polls, starting in 2015.

Women activists have long campaigned for the right to vote in Saudi Arabia, which had been the only predominantly Muslim country still banning women from the vote.

Saudi women are still prohibited from driving and traveling without a male guardian.

Saudi Arabia is an ally of US government. Apparently it is not a problem for US government to have an ally which punishes people by death for choosing Christianity over Islam. Saudi Arabia is the major financier of Muslim terrorism in the world. Again, this is not a problem for US government because US government WANTS Muslim terrorism. That's how US government keeps US citizens in fear and insecurity, so that US government can grab more and more power and money under pretext of "war on terror".

Are you the only person making sense on this? Why cant the intellectuals of society world over have the same insight or at least borrow from you. Every society on earth fell for the same reason- the FEMALE FACTOR. God knew it and made her with high resilience but to be kept under authority just like the Bible (Pardon me non Christians) says: Woman was made for man not vice versa. And where it works there is society harmony, pure heterosexual love, family values, distinctive roles that are complementary not substitutes, name them. But our education has taught us about Plan Bs and we are damned by them.

Plan A is teamwork as it is in work place with the boss as the leader. At home the analogy is the same with the man as the leader and the wife as the manager(Working towards common goals with common planning, budgeting etc). Plan B is competition between gender. Two centres of Power, divergent work plans and interests, self centredness with little or no other-ness. And the original harmony as intended by God is gone. The same gets replicated at National level. Women empowerement has everything to do with rights and independence, not national development or family focus. The trend is single parenthood or no parenting at all. In future children with be brend in hatcheries or there will be none at all.

Well this is becoming an interest exchange and I hope am not offensive in any way for I detest being offensive to others. I just voice my views, I may not be an evangelist but I have strong religious views that I prescribe to. They are more extreme than I dare reveal but as an independent thinker, I have used wisdom to balance religious beliefs with world events and as much torelance as possible to people and their opinions and freedom to chose. After all by the end of the day "choice" is God given character so that one can be solely responsible for their choices and actions. As a matter of fact I believe in teachings of an old time preacher/prophet called William Marrion Branham whose teachings have a great influence on my thinking, belief and pre-disposition. After all, each of us has a role model somewhere in a life time.

But your saying is right. None of the plans will solve the world problems. Solution is not anywhere near. I took an environmental training recently that taught me that "We all exploit the environment for all our needs (THINK ABOUT IT) but we give back pollution in return due to lack of alternatives or capacity to manage sustainability. Meaning => even with Plan As and Bs aside, the world is an environmental time bomb and it is just a matter of time before the end. There is an endtime that scientists, environmentalists, religious believers and other actors share whether or not we have the courage to belief in it. The end justifies the means. But the gains are a matter of bet and anticipation at individual level and the winner takes it all.
