Serbia Seeks Kosovo Organ Trade Probe

Belgrade has demanded an urgent UN investigation into claims that Kosovo rebels trafficked in human organs during and after the 1999 war.

Serbia proposed a resolution at an annual conference of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Belgrade, seeking "a comprehensive and independent" UN-led investigation into the alleged organ trade.

A December report by the Council of Europe alleged that Kosovo's independence-seeking rebels kidnapped mostly Serbs and took them to Albania, where they were killed for their kidneys to be harvested for sale on the international black market.

The United States, Britain, and France have suggested that the European Union should conduct the Kosovo organ-trafficking probe through its EULEX mission there.

Serbia, backed by Russia and China, which have refused to recognize Kosovo, wants a UN-led investigation.

EULEX said in January its prosecutors had opened "a preliminary investigation" into the report.

This shocking allegation has received surprisingly little coverage or support from the Western media and governments respectively. The United States for some reason remains absolutely silent. Why? If true, would not all democratic nations want and demand justice?
I have this nagging suspicion that if the tables were turned and it were Serbs accused of harvesting Albanian organs, this would have been front page news for months with Hillary Clinton leading the charge demanding punishment and justice. What horrific hypocrisy.

"Kosovo Organ Trade", hard to believe.Kosovars have no technology today to do it. Imagine 12 years ago???? (Serbian goverment knows it). It is just Serbian propaganda (terrible one). Everyone knows about serbian Propaganda. These accusations are same like massacre in Srebrenica in 1995 Serbs were saying "We have some informations that (8100) men in Srebrenica commited massive suicide" Serbia and Russia "Hired" Dick Marty,( I bet they gave him Tons of money,) just to LIE against Kosovars & WEST.The Coward like Dick Marty, would lie against his own mother for a milion Euros.

Where did you get your information??? Dick Marty has everything to lose and nothing to gain...There is NO documentation anywhere that illustrates Marty was taking monies from The Serbs. I have news for you as I was just in Kosovo, they have a long way to go before you tie them in with the west. People know their methods and they are not buying it

If anyone who has followed the tragedy in the Balkans knows full well (NOW in 2011), the hypocrisy that has ensued as applied to the Serbs. I realize that Serbia played a role in the wars (just as Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo), however, people now understand that the demonization of one side was unjust and shameful.
