Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, who is also the country's interior minister, says the reported illegal wiretapping of Serbia's president and deputy prime minister is "unacceptable."
In a televised statement, Dacic added that he personally had nothing to do with it.
He also said the country’s police need urgent reform and all officers involved in the illegal wiretapping will be replaced in the near future.
Earlier on November 2, Serbian media carried a statement by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic accusing police of illegally wiretapping him and other top officials, including President Tomislav Nikolic.
Vucic is a member of the Serbian Progressive Party, which sits in a three-party coalition headed by Socialist leader, Dacic, who became prime minister in July 2012.
