Two Serbian Soldiers Killed By Old NATO Cluster Bomb

TEXT SIZE - +
Serbia's Defense Ministry says two Serbian military personnel were killed in the explosion of an old NATO cluster bomb.

According to the ministry, the two officers died while clearing a minefield that was left over from the 1999 war in Kosovo.

The incident happened near the officers' military barrack on Mt. Kopaonik on Serbia's border with Kosovo.

Hundreds of minefields, including unexploded cluster bombs, were left in Serbia following NATO's 78-day bombing campaign that stopped the crackdown by Serbian forces on Kosovo Albanian separatists.

Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008.

So when will NATO finally be taken to the Hague? By the way, your map of Serbia is incorrect... Kosovo is STILL a province of Serbia!

Sounds like delayed justice to me. Too bad one hundred other "officers" weren't in the field with them!

Very racist comment. They were probably school children in 1999. You obviously believe that the only good Serb is a dead Serb. People like you should get a life

jd,

Perhaps you need to look up the definition of racist?

Thank you for your advice as I am starting to get my life back after spending the majority of 1998 and 1999 in Peja fighting the likes of the Munje to save my family from expulsion and or extinction.

Where were you in 1998/99?

Guys, sorry to rain on your parade, but wasn't that minefield set up by the Serbs to prevent KLA from invading Serbia?

Stop using cluster bombs! The small bombs left over usually get little kids that are just picking up a shiny thing.
