South Ossetia's Dzhioyeva In Serious But Stable Condition

Disqualified presidential candidate Alla Dzhioyeva

By RFE/RL's Russian Service
TSKHINVALI, Georgia -- A former opposition candidate for the de facto presidency of the breakaway Georgian region of South Ossetia is in "serious but stable" condition after being taken to a hospital on February 9.

The Tskhinvali hospital where former Education Minister Alla Dzhioyeva is being treated said she suffered a "hypertensive crisis."

Officials of the separatist government and Dzhioyeva staffers say she suffered an attack of high blood pressure while she was being questioned during a police raid of her headquarters.

Irina Gagloyeva, a former separatist government spokeswoman who now heads a press center in Tskhinvali, told RFE/RL that the police action led to Dzhioyeva's collapse.

"Alla Dzhioyeva is in grave condition at the hospital now. She was taken there as a result of a criminal assault by law-enforcement personnel," Gagloyeva said.

Gagloyeva said the raid was conducted by armed law enforcement agents, who believed Dzhioyeva was "faking it" when she complained of feeling ill:

"Armed personnel burst into her headquarters and produced an unlawful invitation to the prosecutor's office," Gagloyeva said. "They didn't even bother to listen to her explanations."

Election Dispute

Election officials declared Dzhioyeva the winner of the second round of the presidential election held in the breakaway region in November 2011, but those results were annulled by the Supreme Court at the request of her opponent.

The court ordered a new election for March 25 and barred Dzhioyeva from participating in it.

In December, Dzhioyeva negotiated an agreement with outgoing separatist leader Eduard Kokoity, who agreed to step down and fire several high-ranking officials of his government. But she annulled that agreement after the pro-Kokoity legislature failed to endorse the moves.

Dzhioyeva has called on acting de facto President Vadim Brovtsev to surrender power to her. She had planned to stage an "inauguration" ceremony for herself on February 10.

South Ossetia -- like the breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia -- declared independence in the 1990s.

Following the August 2008 war between Georgia and Russia, Moscow recognized the two regions as independent countries.

Although a handful of other countries have also recognized their independence, the vast majority of the international community has not and still considers them part of Georgia.

We will ask all of these crimes. Russia and sovietski slaves will paid all of these. Which animal can attack to a lady ? hit her ? how can they dare to do it ? in our lands, in our ancestors' lands ! We do not want Russians, and other tyrannic christian ortodox invaders, all people of North Caucasus must be unite to defend our lands. Christianity is only a invading tool of Rus-georgi ortodox invader politics. Let them take their Christ the "son of Sun god" and get out from Caucasus.

Your comment does not make any sense. Despite the fact that Ossetians speak an Iranic language, they are eastern orthodox christian just like Georgians and Russians and they have been so since the middle ages. Moreover, people who attacked the lady are ossetian and work for the local regime. So I'm really confused as to what "orthodox invader politics" has to do with the fact that ossetians themselves cannot figure out how to run their sliver of land without clashes of criminal gangs. They chose this path when they invited Russia and now ordinary people are paying the price for their "independence"

They were converted to ISLAM because they are a weak nation, not like Armenians that lost everything but their faith in Christ, and not like Georgians that fought to keep their faith. It's funny how RFE/RL lets these Muslims talk shiznit about Christ, but not against Islam.

Hey Alex, your comment about the Georgians is a lie. They were Muslims for centuries before converting en mass to Orthodox Christianity and even this during their sworn allegiance to the Crusaders (which shows a lot of betrayal). Also, there are hundreds of thousands of Muslim Georgians around today, just like Muslim Armenians. Your comment about the Ossetians is pretty much a lie because most are actually Christians, not Muslims!

Bunch of Islamist propaganda nonsense, Avaristan. Putting together mafia regime of Putin and more or less civilized republic of Georgia regime of pres. Saakashvili on the grounds that both countries are historically Orthodox Christians--that's a typical example of Jihadist demagoguery

South Osetia is predominantly Orthodox Christian too. And if instead of being Putin Russia satellite, it became an Islamic one, Dzhioyeva's fate would not be better, if not worse. Just look what happened to Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan.

Sandy, Georgia adopted Christianity in the 4th century while Islam did not emerge until the 7th century, so I am confused how you concluded that they were Muslim for centuries before their conversion. A prominent Caucasus scholar Thomas de Waal describes that according to historic sources, even during the formal Islamic dominance of Georgia there were only one or two mosques in the entire country, most of which served the administrators of the dominating power. Perhaps the word you're looking for is "pagan" and not "Muslim" because like most of pre-Christian Europe, paganism is what was practiced in ancient Georgia.

As for "hundreds of thousands of Muslim Georgians", I would say that there are at max several dozen thousand in Georgia, Turkey, as well as Iran, where they were forcibly moved over 300 years ago. Though I'm not sure what difference this makes. The peoples of the North Caucasus were not deported and tortured to convert to Islam, they accepted it.

Lastly, I do not think your name is Sandy or that you are from Washington. You just copied that from me to add additional credibility to your KGB-style falsehoods.

Both Ossetians are paying the hard price of being the Russian satellite of the Caucases.

REMINDER THOSE BELIEVE RUSSIA'S LIES:

Look at the: "www.WorldFreedomAndTruth.info" maps
and read the Chronology of 2008 "war".

All Caucasus and more, with Kingdoms lost, was Iberia,
Colhis and Caspean Albania, produced by pre-Georgian Iberia
since 12 milleniums ago, all known history - are brothers and
cousins (same with addidion of joining peoples).
Osetia was once pre-Georgia mixed in 5 Century B.C. with
tribe of Dan and allies - Skifs from South Ukraine and Guns
(Mediand mixed with Hans) from Mountain Altay.
Later Medians of Besso joined North of Darial.
It is what makes pseudo-historians (Imperial propaganda)
call Osetin language Iranian.
Not true - Iranians themselves talk pre-Georgian that came
from Media and Caspean Albania and was mixed and simplified in pronouncuation by Persian tribes.
Osetin differ as much from Iranian as Iranian and other Ibero-Caucasian languages, produced by pre-Georgian, differ from each-other.

South Osetia was always Georgia, where Osetin Knights were invated by Georgian Kings since 5 Century A.D. and they were Christians, as was most of the history most of Northern Caucasus before second Mongol war, brought by Russian
lies to Mongols, after wich, being left alone, surrounded by conquering empires, North Caucasians started to ally with
Arabs and some converted to Islam.

By the way, there is no much difference in Georgian
Christianity and original believe of Muhamed (Muhe-Medi), descandent of Median tribe of "Kurashi" (Kura-Shi) that settled before Moses at the Holly Mountain - Hospitality, Justice,
saint-George like mentality and so on.
Arabs didn't change Muhamed, they just made him to accept
laws of the Saudy deserts and steps, including polligamy, as
the way to survive in harsh enviroment their people lived in.
Unfortunately, bewitched by Chaldeans from Shumer and Babilon pristhood, turned Muslims, Arabs tried to force at the
time, after death of Muhamed, such taugh laws on many other
nations that lived in farming communities.
Russian propaganda is trying do the same here, using turbanized GRU, Spetcnaz, KGB and other agencies
"anychars", mostly children of WW2 criminals that agreed
for life pardon be given to their fathers and grandfathers.

Grabb of South Osetia was planned since 1954-56,
I was vitness of most of stages of Russian treachery.
I described it in numbers of topics -
will continue later...

PS:

Just now, Russian TV "Vesti" had a program of glorifying
Russian insurging units in foreign wars, including Egipt -
Israel 6 days war.
Sure they very exited how they umbushed with superior at
the time missles Israelies and shut down 5 Irrael's planes,
In Russian stile...

Not unlike Jacob said about "Gad", coarsing him:
- "This little guy so mean, I even afraid to coarse him few moment before my death - who know what he would do to me
this last moments of my life and after my death
(like Russians and "Gad"-Adyga in Abkhazia in 1992-93 that betrayed cease fire and unleashed genocide against Georgian Civilian population, desecrating even dead bodies).
This little guy snick at the back and murder people and nations that neither forsee it nor even know they have an enemy..."

My point is, thought, that - they called movement of Russian armies to Egipt and Middle East operation "Kavkas"!
They also called today new missle "Voronezh"...
Conquest by betrail of Caucasus and Georgia in Middle East?
Annexation another territory like once Ukrainian Voronezh?
Sure!
Russia makes no secret of their 11 centuries bloody and
treacherous nature.

Why not sing it in open, Rashka:
"Varaga-Cossaka" crossing on horsicals-tankicals
River Visla, to cut-off heads of Juden and Polyachishkas,
Strudents and Intellectuals - expand Raten-for-band Raticals,
Turn Muslim World into a new Caucasian World annexicals,
Using arrogance of Raten-for-band's turbanized serficals.

Just now on TV "Sovientel" a Russian aparatchic with little
Stinky impudently-smart "morda" say that Afghan genocide
was better than NATO and "caolition" stay in Afghanistan
and other places...

Shortly, USA trying to save many nations suffering muss
influx of plandering 5-th column of Russian Empire, while
Russia using suicide bombers and Russian spies in USA
and the rest of the World to procrostunate their influx and
to kill in name of the West, like Russian proxies Litvak
and Shvartckov killing of 200,000 in Iraq in two days...

Our requirement that the U.S. and the West have announced the so-called South Ossetia and Abkhazia- territories of racism, crime and lawlessness.
Against those who covers the Abkhazian and Ossetian bandits used boycotts and sanctions.
In the Caucasus, there are two bandit enclaves--Abkhazia and South Ossetia, where the racist bullying of common sense and spit on civilization..
It is unclear why Mr Whitmore is silent...

You are obviously bitter and full of hate, so much that you resort to lies. Your little nation Georgia is ten times worse than these two free nations. And that's why there's so many problems there that even US aid money and puppeteery cannot fix.
