A suicide bomber has detonated explosives in his vehicle at a police checkpoint in central Iraq, killing 10 people.
A policeman and a medical worker confirmed the casualties from the April 21 attack in the Suweirah area, south of Baghdad.
The attack also wounded some 35 people.
A suicide bombing at a university in Baghdad on April 20 killed at least 16 people.
The violence comes less than 10 days before the April 30 parliamentary elections and will be a major test for security forces.
The parliamentary elections are the first Iraq is conducting since the withdrawal of U,S, forces at the end of 2011.
