One of two prime suspects in the murder of a British soldier in London has been released from hospital and taken into police custody.

On May 28, Police said the 22-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a police officer.

They did not identify the man, but he is understood to be Michael Adebowale.

The soldier, Lee Rigby, was hacked to death on a London street last week by two men wielding knives and meat cleavers who shouted Islamist extremist slogans.

Police shot and wounded the two men who allegedly killed Rigby.

They were being held under armed guard in hospital.

Several more suspects also have been arrested in connection with Rigby's murder.
