Suspect Guns Down Police Escort, Breaks Free In Russia's Vladivostok

A suspect has gunned down a police escort in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok and broke free.

Russia's Investigative Committee said that the suspect, Vladimir Bespalov, born in 1974, seized a police officer's gun and shot dead one police officer and seriously wounded another, while being transferred from a court hearing to detention center with his alleged accomplice on March 24.

The perpetrator then escaped the site and is currently at large with the gun. The other suspect made no attempt to escape and remained in the vehicle.

The two suspects were arrested for alleged drug dealing.

Authorities in Vladivostok have called on the public to be alert as the hunt for the escaped suspect continues.

Police says Bespalov has a prosthesis left leg and is recognizable by the way he walks.
