Swiss prosecutors have launched an initial investigation to see whether Turkey's EU minister breached the law by denying that the mass killings of Armenians a century ago were genocide.

According to media reports, during a recent visit to Switzerland Egemen Bagis denied that there had been an Armenian genocide, adding "Let them come and arrest me."

Under Swiss law it is a crime to deny that the killings of up to 1.5 million Armenians during World War One constituted an act of genocide.

Turkey says there was no systematic campaign against the Armenians.

A Turkish Foreign Ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, later said Turkey had summoned the Swiss ambassador to Ankara to tell him that the probe was "unacceptable."

The people in turkey, are arrested, tortured, and killed for speaking about the Armenian Genocide. The turkish government must be stopped by law for exporting hate and intolerance. They attack everyone even outside of turkey who would speak about the A.G. . 42 U.S. states, The International Association of Genocide Scholars, the E.U., over 20 countries have officially recognized the Armenian Genocide.

Turkish politicians, diplomats and gray wolves are outside the jurisdiction of any human laws as they are not responsible for their talk /ing turkey /, their deeds and actions-these people are allahtans-god`s people-they are beyond good and evil and should be taken every care of in the proper institutions. And if you want to make EU such an institution, accept the proud and freedom loving islamist doves in what they derisively call the `Christian club`.If the turkey EU minister`s talk wont show you the nature of the beast, dear europeans, then nothing else will.Be quick to accept the wild turkeys in the EU and drop all stupid preconditions, and be sure to apologize to the muslim doves, down on your knees!!!

Hundreds of thousands of Turks died in the same conflict, yet no one speaks of the Turkish genocide by Armenians. While 20 countries have recognized the so-called Armenian Genocide, 176 have not. While Turkey cannot claim to have clean hands on the matter nor deny that there were war crimes committed in the conflict, one looking objectively at the case and NOT caving in to Armenian special interest groups can see that Turkey had no intention of expunging Armenians from the region.

Armenians have done a great job in using Xenephobia and Islamophobia in Europe as well as their Diaspora voting potential to convince some politicians to pass 'laws' (?) recognizing their genocide claims. During war, every country has relocated their citizens which join the enemies to attack them from the inside. That's what the Turks did. Unfortunately, many died during the relocation. I find it disrespectful to the dead that their grand grand children are fabricating add-on stories in order to have Turkey recognize a 'genocide' and pay them $$$$$$s in reparations. Bad pretense......

The Armenian Genocide was a horrific event against the Armenian people. It has affected every Armenian's life and CANNOT be denied. Turkey has tried to deny this massacre of innocent lies. Denying the Armenian Genocide is like denying the Holocaust. This official needs to be jailed.

He should be jailed. Ignorant Turks. Hitler learned of Genocide from Turks and applied it to Jews. Raphael Lemkin created the world Genocide and referred it to Armenians as well.

yes there is some Armenian Genocide.
no there is not any Armenian Genocide.

lets ask people, how can French decide this ? Only scholars and true historians know what happened in WW1. Armenians were hope to get national state in Anatolia. And Armenian militant groups were fight with Muslim Anatolian people, not with Ottoman army. Ottoman armies were at fronts of World War. To the end of the war, Ottomans were decide to push Armenian militants to the East. So then many civilians effected from this, Armenians or Anatolian muslims.

So Who made what to who ?
Armenians were shoot their feet. They did, they are the owner of reason, the forced migration.
These is the genocide "story".

Listen Alien, it was organized genocide. France knows what to do. Armenian population has totally disappeared from their home land. If Armenian had fought there would have been some Armenians left in Western Armenia. War dose not wipe out the all population but Genocide does. Use you brain if there is any!!

Very nice to see the concerns of France and Switzerland on various genocides.
I recall that in 1993, Abkhazian wild gangs under the guise of Russian troops massacred thousands of civilians of Georgian nationality and expelled hundreds of thousands, that by all indications is a genocide.

Since Putin has covered crime of Abkhaz bandits by recognizing them and froze the situation..
I ask Sarkozy and Switzerland to begin payments to the victims of genocide at $ 300,000 each....Тhe only way they can prove that they are not empty talkers, and serious people.
Come on Sarkozy fumbled in the pockets and tell the Swiss started to bank transfers..

Genocide deniers always use puerile comments such as "Many Turks died during WWI". I guess this is justification to what they did to their minority populations such as the Armenians. Only fools would make such comments. You know who you are. "No, we di not commit Genocide against the Armenians but if we did, they deserved it because many Turks died also and the Armenians took arms against The Ottoman Empire. " Hitler uttered the same words when he committed Genocide against Jews, Roma, Sinti, gays etc.
