Thai police are hoping to extend the detention for an Iranian suspected in a bomb plot.

Forty-two-year-old Mohammad Hazaei is suspected of being involved in the Bangkok blasts on February 14, which Thai police believe was targeting Israeli diplomats.

Police said he was interrogated for eight days and is now facing charges including the illegal possession of explosive devices.

Twenty-eight-year old Saeid Moradi faces the same charges.

Moradi lost a leg when a bomb he was carrying went off after an earlier blast, apparently accidental, at a house he was renting. His other leg had to be amputated.

Police are also looking for four other suspects in connection to the case.

Thai police said they found a link between last week's bombings in Bangkok and New Delhi, which were attacks Israel has blamed on Iran.
