Three Pakistani soldiers were killed when suspected Islamist militants fired rockets at their post in the country's northwestern tribal region.
Officials said at least two soldiers were also injured in the shelling, which occurred in the early morning on September 14 in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, near the Afghan border.
The incident occurred in an area where the military has been battling Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants since mid-June.
The Pakistani Army is trying to drive out Islamist militants from North Waziristan and said last week it had killed more than 1,000 insurgents in a three-month campaingn.
It added that 82 soldiers had also died in the fighting.
The numbers could not be independently confirmed.
