A court in Kazakhstan's northwestern region of Aqtobe has sentenced three local citizens convicted of plotting to blow up a police station.
On October 23, the Aqtobe Regional Court found the three defendants guilty of propagating terrorism, the creation of a terrorist group, and possessing illegal arms and explosives.
The men received jail terms of between six and 11 years.
The trial took place behind closed doors.
Aqtobe and other cities and towns in western Kazakhstan made headlines in recent months after security forces killed several alleged Islamic extremists and terrorists in the region.
