Libyan officials say three Tajik citizens were among seven victims killed during a terrorist attack on a luxury hotel used by diplomats and businessmen in Tripoli.
Libyan Interior Ministry spokesman Isam al-Nas says other victims killed in the January 27 attack at Tripoli’s Corinthia Hotel included a U.S. citizen, a French national, and two Libyan guards.
Team Crucible LLC, a Virginia-based security firm, identified the slain American as one of its employees.
Three attackers also were killed.
Witnesses said the attack was carried out by at least five masked gunmen who stormed inside the lobby, shooting at staff and guests randomly.
A car bomb also was detonated during the attack.
Authorities said they were not able to confirm a claim of responsibility posted online by a group that also claims to be affiliated with Islamic State militants.
