Turkish officials say a vehicle packed with explosives rammed into a police station in the country's restive southeast, wounding several people in what state media called a "terrorist" attack by Kurdish militants.
The state-run Anadolu Agency said that "terrorists" affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) carried out the car bombing on April 11 in the town of Hani in the mainly Kurdish Diyarbakir region, wounding several who were taken by ambulance to a military hospital.
Reuters quoted unidentified security sources as saying that one soldier was killed and 47 people including eight civilians were wounded in the attack.
A surge of violence has hit Turkey's southeast since July, when a fragile peace process between the government and Kurdish militants fell apart.
Turkey's military has conducted sweeping operations in the region targeting out fighters linked to the outlawed PKK, which the government and its allies consider a terrorist organization.
