TEXT SIZE - +
Turkish customs officials have reportedly intercepted four trucks suspected of carrying military equipment from Iran to Syria.

Turkey’s Dogan news agency quoted the governor of Kilis province, Yusuf Odabas, as saying the trucks were confiscated at a border crossing into Syria.

Odabas said experts were being sent from Ankara to examine the cargo.

Turkey has imposed an arms embargo against Syria to protest Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's crackdown on antigovernment demonstrations.

Syria has also been suspended by the Arab League, leaving Damascus with few friends except for Tehran.
