Ukrainian boxer Vyacheslav Senchenko has sent Britain’s Ricky Hatton back into retirement.
The Ukrainian welterweight floored Hatton -- a former light welterweight and welterweight champion -- with a left to the body in the ninth round of the fight in Hatton’s home city of Manchester, England on November 24.
Hatton, 34, announced after the knockout that he would again retire. Hatton ends his comeback with a career record of 45-3 with 32 knockouts.
Senchenko, a former world welterweight champion, improved his record to 33-1 with 22 knockouts.
The fight marked the first return to the ring by Hatton in more than three years.
Hatton had a perfect 43-0 record until he lost to American Floyd Mayweather in 2007.
He hung up the gloves for the first time after being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in 2009 for his second loss.
