WATCH: Archival footage shows Momcilo Perisic with Bosnian Serb wartime commander Ratko Mladic, who was arrested in May. Bakone Moloto, the presiding judge, reads out the sentence in court.

The UN war crimes tribunal has found the former chief of the Yugoslav army, Momcilo Perisic, guilty of murder, persecution, and attacks on civilians in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia during the Balkans wars of the 1990s, and sentenced him to 27 years in prison.

The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague  found Perisic, 67, guilty of securing financial and logistical support for Serbs in Bosnia and Croatia and of helping them to plan and carry out war crimes, including the killing of 8,000 Muslim men and boys in Srebrebica and the 42-month-long siege of Sarajevo.

However, the judges acquitted Perisic on charges he was directly responsible for crimes against humanity as a superior officer to leaders of the Bosnian Serb forces in Srebrenica.

He had pleaded not guilty on all charges.

Perisic was chief of the general staff of the Yugoslav People's Army from August 1993 to November 1998. He is the most senior Yugoslav army officer to be put on trial at the UN court.

The trial had lasted nearly three years, during which the court heard from more than 100 witnesses.

So, the yugoslav army chief gets 27 years for `murder, persecution and attacks on civilians`.And what do the turkish state got for the murder, persecution and attacks on millions of arabs, kurds, armenians, greeks, assyrians ,bulgarians, etc, etc.First after WW I they got the right to form a western concubine state including the land of the civilians they murdered. Then they got the right to deny the genocides it commited .And today cold turkey-the sick old man of `Civilized` europe gets billions of $$$from east &west because it suits the egomaniacal interests of the super-duper powers.Hurrah for the western `de-mock-racy` and its eastern clones, three cheers for cold turkey and its eastern and western Pandaruses.Long live hypocrisy, moral relativism, double standards. The best is yet to come.See ya all at Armageddon.

Would just point out that those are obviously allegations, and no such guilt has been proven of those individuals.

Well Andy, the evidence against these guys for the above mentioned crimes which should become indictments is o-v-e-r-w-h-e-l-m-i-n-g. Plenty of videos, press quotes and even books expressing pride in their aggressive wars. The facts are that the aforementioned killed and or supported those who killed politically and logistically, 10,000 civilians (over 1,000 of them children), created 30,000 invalids due to shrapnel / bullets (of which over 4,000 are children), the "Krajina" sham parliament barring any of the 250,000 + non-Serbs they ethnically cleansed from returning, by ordering and or politically supporting / overseeing four and a half years of endless mortar, artillery and sniper fire which displaced another 250,000 from front line zones / which hundreds of thousands had to deal with on a daily basis... The Rampart Plan, which outlined the deliberate targeting of civilians, was a written document that was executed across the board by YPA/VRSK/other neo-fascist Serb paramilitary forces in both Croatia. Magically, the "anti-Serb" ICTY has never indicted these individuals and probably never will. It is sickening.

More asinine name calling.

Remember Ante, a hell of a lot of Serbs cooperated with the Nazi occupation of Yugoslavia.

"Aside from German armed forces which were the dominant Axis military in the territory, there were two Serbian collaborationist military forces, the Serbian State Guards (Srpska Državna Straža) and the Serbian Volunteer Command both formed in 1941. In 1943, the Serbian Volunteer Command was renamed the Serbian Volunteer Corps (Srpski Dobrovoljački Korpus), with Kosta Mušicki as the operational leader.[27]
Initially, the recruits were largely paramilitaries and supporters of the fascist Yugoslav National Movement "Zbor" (Jugoslovenski narodni pokret "Zbor", or ZBOR) party of Dimitrije Ljotić. Nedić's forces fought Communist Partisans as well as Royalist Chetniks who were not willing to sign an agreement of cooperation.
Recruits to the collaborationist forces increased in numbers following joining of Chetnik groups loyal to Kosta Pećanac. By their own postwar account, these Chetniks joined with the intention to destroy Tito's Partisans, rather than supporting Nedić and the German occupation forces, whom they later intended to turn against.[2]
The Serbian Volunteer Corps were formed in the spring of 1943. At the end of 1944, the Corps and its German liaison staff were transferred to the Waffen-SS as the Serbian SS Corps and comprised a staff from four regiments each with three battalions and a training battalion."

"Dear americrow,it will be best to open the good old Nuremberg trials as it seems they hadnt done their job properly & thoroughly."

Indeed -- see my post above. Also see Serbia's voting trends with open fascists nearly 50% of the electorate.

"We may start with a former Hitler-jugend member and a current paedofile defender who recently holds a very good post in the Vatican hierarchy & is the spiritual father of your new-fangled `state`"

Are you referring to the mass rapist and murderer cum Serbian Orthodox Bishop Momcilo Djujic (who collaborated not only with the Nazis and Italians, but even the Ustase) and Serbian Orthodox "Saint" Nikolaj “there is a world-wide Jewish conspiracy against Orthodox Christianity, primarily against the Serbian and Russian peoples” Velimirovic? Neither were in the Vatican as both aforementioned racist, fascist hate mongers (Djujic being an indicted war criminal). If you are referring to Cardinal (soon to be Saint) Alojs Stepinac, the personal secretary of Zagreb's Rabbi Dr. Miroslav Shalom Freiburger, Dr. Amiel Shromney (Emil Schwartz), Croatian-Israeli citizen and patriot, totally debunked the Communist sham trial (which forbid their own propaganda citing Stepinac's weekly denunciations of Nazism, Fascism and the Ustasa regime, along with the thousands of Jews, Serbs and Gypsies he personally saved to which Shromney has testified to publicly on numerous occassions and articles) so the only thing left is your primitive, visceral, blind hate.

"Then we can go to comrade zieg hail SS ober gruppen fuerer gotovina before turning to the smaller gotovina clones like you.Друже америкро;ми ти се кунемо !!!"" Gruppen Fuehrer? Are you referring to Fritz Klingenburg and the 7 (7) motorized SS troops Belgrade, the first European capital city to be declared Judenfrei (thanks to the Serbian Volunteer Guards of Dmitrije Ljotic and the Serbian Nazi government of, to modern day Serbia, "antifascist" Milan Nedic)? Or the Nazi stooge Draza "Homogeneous Serbia" Mihaijlovic?
