U.S. Drone Kills Suspected Militants In Northwest Pakistan

Pakistani security officials say a U.S. drone attack has killed up to 12 suspected militants in a restive northwestern tribal area near the Afghan border.

The officials said U.S. drones fired several missiles on July 23 at a compound in the Shawal area of the North Waziristan tribal region.

The area is known as a haven for Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants focused on fighting U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

The CIA-run drone program is a key element of U.S. counterterrorism efforts.

It is highly unpopular in Pakistan where it is considered a violation of sovereignty which causes unacceptable civilian casualties.

these drone attacks should be viewed by anyone with IQ>75 as covert US government support for Sunni terrorism, in part for the following reasons:
1. they kill more innocent civilians than militants thus increasing hatred toward Americans among US government allies - Sunni Muslims
2. the impact on Taliban is not noticeable, as Taliban is clearly winning in Afghanistan, in part because of US government sponsorship of Al Qaeda and other militant Sunni groups
3. every drone attack costs several million $$$ to US taxpayers, while those few Sunni militants they kill are worthless drug addicts who are easily replaceable and are replaced with ever greater numbers
