U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is marking the start of the Persian New Year this week by sending the people of Iran the United States' best wishes.

In a statement, Clinton said, "The people of the United States join you in welcoming the opportunities of this New Year and the possibilities for strengthening ties of family and friends."

She added, "And as we face new challenges, we remain committed to our support for universal human rights and the freedom of expression -- rights that promote peace and progress."

Israeli President Shimon Peres also sent Iran his wishes for "peace and coexistence" in a rare show of conciliation at a time of high tensions between the two countries over Iran's suspect nuclear program.

Aaaah, there was not a US of A or a `state` of Israel then, but the good old romans used to say `Timeo Shamericanos or Zionists et dona ferentes!!! which in modern anguish would go like:Beware of the Shamericans and the Zionists even when they bestow you with gifts!!!All this politicians` double speak means simply:We`re gonna stab you in the back ,given half a chance.

Hey, Camel! Great to hear from you! Well, if Putin pays me the ticket Vienna-Moscow-Vienna I will be more than glad to visit all those events where "vodka and selyodka" are for free - here in Vienna they are completely running out of money, man, so one does not even want to go to receptions, that poor the selection of products is :-).

It's very flattering to know that people like Mrs Clinton and Mr Obama care enough to send such warm and friendly messages. As UN Sec Gen said on the occasion of Nowruz two years ago, Nowruz holds and promotes peace and goodwill to all humanity. I only wish that Mrs Clinton and Mr Obama show their genuine respect for Iranian people by helping rather than hindering their opposition to the clerical tyranny for democracy and freedom and peaceful co-operation with the civilized family of nations. This cannot be achieved with hindering the true representatives of the Iranian people who are the various opposition movements.

That's right Anonymous from Iran - Hillary has gotten old, and this is the sad thing, because one can not hope anymore that someone in her age will get any wiser at some point in the future :-)).

Great! I'm sure this will receive wide coverage on Iranian TV. Right after the "Death to America" story and right before the "Death to the Zionist Regime" story.
